West Ham are hoping to send youngster Reece Oxford on loan for another season, according to the Daily Mail, and West Brom boss Darren Moore should target him to solve their midfield frailties.

What's the story?

Oxford made his first team debut for West Ham in July 2015, aged just 16, and starred in his first Premier League appearance against Arsenal. However, he has since made just 16 further appearances for the club in the past three years.

Now 19 years old, Oxford spent last season in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach, who finished ninth in the table. He made only eight appearances in all competitions for the German side but the Hammers are keen to send him out on loan again, according to the Mail.

Oxford is highly-rated, with five caps for the England U20 side, and captained West Ham's U23 side during their crazy 6-4 loss to Manchester City on Sunday.

The perfect fit

West Brom have had an impressive start to their first season back in the Championship, securing seven points from their first four matches, which included a 7-1 thrashing of Queens Park Rangers.

Boss Darren Moore made seven signings this summer, but has so far failed to add a central midfielder to the squad and has continued to start 33-year-old wide man Chris Brunt alongside Jake Livermore in the middle of the park.

Oxford would provide youthful energy into the midfield and along with Livermore would provide an effective shield for the Baggies defence. Moore should do all he can to secure his loan signature for West Ham before the deadline.
