West Brom have been boosted in their bid to sign Wilfried Bony as the striker admits he would welcome a move to the Premier League, according to the Express and Star.
Bony currently plays for Vitesse Arnhem but is set to depart the Dutch outfit in the summer after an impressive campaign in the Eredivisie, where he has bagged 31 goals.
The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international admits a move to England appeals to him, although the striker may be out of the Baggies’ price range.
“I’ve heard the rumours but there’s nothing concrete. I’m very interested in the Premier League and the atmosphere in England, it’s a wonderful league and we will see what happens,” said Bony.
“The Premier League is the top league in Europe, but the Bundesliga is also good. France, Italy and Spain, they’re good too but England would be perfect.”
Vitesse Arnhem are resigned to losing the striker but will demand as high a fee as possible for the free-scoring forward and the Baggies could struggle to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool, both of whom have been credited with an interest, for Bony’s signature.
