According to John Percy at the Telegraph, West Brom are set to make a bid of £8m to Dinamo Zagreb for their talisman Mislav Orsic after crunch talks at the Hawthorns on Monday night.

What's the word?

It's believed that Albion head coach Slaven Bilic was locked in talks with two key members of the Baggies' hierarchy, sporting and technical director Luke Dowling and chief executive Mark Jenkins, well past midnight following their 1-0 defeat to Stoke City.

The Croatian boss is now set to move for his fellow compatriot this week with the transfer deadline rapidly approaching, whilst it is claimed he also wants another signing or two on top of that - but Orsic is the priority.

Get him, quick

West Brom need to act quickly with the transfer window soon entering the final week of business. They also have the small matter of battling Premier League opposition, West Ham United, in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday as well as a trip to Cardiff City on Tuesday night.

They will be without first-choice left-winger Grady Diangana after he picked up another injury on Monday. He was withdrawn after just four minutes and is now set to miss the next month.

The 21-year-old's five goals and six assists will be a huge miss as they look to change their fortunes around having won just once in their last eight league matches.

Orsic would add a new dimension and a much-needed spark to Bilic's faltering frontline as he's been impressing on both the domestic and European front this campaign - he's found the net 19 times in 26 appearances, which includes a hattrick in the Champions League against Atalanta, who qualified for the knockout stage.

A title winner with Dinamo Zagreb last season, the Croatian winger is very versatile as he can play anywhere across the front three and having clocked a speed of 31 k/ph this season, he would offer frightening pace that Albion lack in the absence of Diangana.

Who the heck is that?! Can you name all of these obscure West Brom players...

Bilic could do with his arrival at the earliest opportunity. With the need to bounce back from Monday night's defeat and the West Ham clash on the horizon, reinforcements would be more beneficial sooner rather than later.

£8m could be a bargain when you consider it was the same price they paid for Kenneth Zohore, who fans were left fuming with on Monday night.
