When West Bromwich Albion announced that Bakary Sako had finalised a move to The Hawthorns it came as no big surprise.

The attacker has been a free agent since the end of last season after he was released by Crystal Palace.

At one point the 30-year-old was linked to Middlesbrough and Aston Villa, but after spending a few weeks training with the Baggies, a contract was offered.

The Mali international has signed a season-long contract in a bid to help West Brom achieve promotion back to the Premier League.

Sako has plenty of experience in the English game having played for Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he spent three years between 2012 and 2015.

During that time the winger made 124 appearances, scoring 38 goals and creating 36 assists.

On Twitter plenty of West Brom fans posted their thoughts on the new arrival, and they were all positive.

Darren Moore's team are currently third in the Championship table, two points adrift of leaders Leeds United with a game in hand.
