As soon as West Bromwich Albion’s relegation fate was realised last season, the club’s sole aim was to achieve promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

So far, the Baggies are in good standing in the Championship as they reside third in the table, one point adrift of leaders Leeds United and second-placed Middlesbrough.

West Brom’s rise up the league is down to their four-game unbeaten run, with their latest result being a 2-0 victory over Millwall.

The Championship is only nine games in, which means that Darren Moore and his team have a long and arduous campaign ahead.

The second tier can be unpredictable due to the level of competition, and in many cases whoever is in the leading pack at the moment tend to drift away as the months tick over.

West Brom’s Twitter account decided to revel in the fact that the club are sitting third in the play-off spots, but some fans felt that it was far too soon to be enjoying the moment.

Others, though, are confident that they can sustain a promotion charge.
