West Bromwich Albion are having a good run in the Championship as they currently sit third in the table after nine games.

On Tuesday night, though, the Baggies suffered a setback in a different competition as they were knocked out of the EFL Cup at the third round.

The club had beaten Luton Town and Mansfield Town to progress into the next phase of the competition, but they were unable to overcome Premier League side Crystal Palace.

Darren Moore’s side were beaten 3-0, conceding two goals from Andros Townsend and one from Patrick van Aanholt.

The Baggies fielded some youth players, but they also had a mix of experience in the team as well, which is why some fans have been left frustrated with Moore – understandable in some ways given the 3-0 scoreline, but surprising in others given they are currently third in the league.

After the match, while speaking to the media, Moore claimed that the match will be a learning curve for the youngsters that took part.

Some fans were not satisfied with the manager’s response, and they made it clear on Twitter.
