West Bromwich Albion are having a good run in the Championship as they currently sit third in the table after nine games.
On Tuesday night, though, the Baggies suffered a setback in a different competition as they were knocked out of the EFL Cup at the third round.
The club had beaten Luton Town and Mansfield Town to progress into the next phase of the competition, but they were unable to overcome Premier League side Crystal Palace.
Darren Moore’s side were beaten 3-0, conceding two goals from Andros Townsend and one from Patrick van Aanholt.
The Baggies fielded some youth players, but they also had a mix of experience in the team as well, which is why some fans have been left frustrated with Moore – understandable in some ways given the 3-0 scoreline, but surprising in others given they are currently third in the league.
After the match, while speaking to the media, Moore claimed that the match will be a learning curve for the youngsters that took part.
Darren says his Albion youngsters will learn from tonight’s defeat…

Some fans were not satisfied with the manager’s response, and they made it clear on Twitter.
Myhill, Mears, Hegazi, Hoolahan, Morrison, Barry, Robson Kanu all started tonight and Brunt came off the bench… “Albion’s youngsters”

On WM he did nothing but compliment Palace. There’s respect and then there’s not knowing how to admit your own team were rubbish. Ridiculous.

I am disappointed!

But as much as I like big Dave, he had no intention to win the game… It was nothing but a gamble when you look at the team selection? No expectation equals no disappointment. Let’s just hope he’s happy with himself ?

First time I have left a game before the end. I am not going to moan and blame any players they don’t pick themselves
