According to Wales Online, attacking midfielder Jonny Williams has been offered to West Brom with the Welshman's contract due to expire this summer.

What's the word?

West Brom are facing a considerable rebuild over pre-season as the club look to get themselves ready for another promotion push.

First on their list of priorities will surely be finding a new manager, but that hasn't stopped the Baggies from potentially doing some early transfer business.

This week Express & Star claimed that Charlton manager Lee Bowyer had taken their interest and now one of his former players at The Valley could be on his way to Albion.

Williams, who spent a period of time on loan with the Addicks from Crystal Palace, has been offered to West Brom, per Wales Online.

His contract with the Eagles is set to end this month and according to the report, Derby and Norwich could also be in the running for his signature.

Fresh creative threat

When Harvey Barnes left West Brom in January after being recalled from his loan spell, there was a huge creative void left in the team.

Barnes shone in a central area, as well as out wide, scoring nine goals and claiming six assists in the process. Four of those strikes came from playing as an attacking midfielder.

Barring the Leicester man, Albion haven't really had anyone capable of providing a creative threat from the middle of the pitch.

Chris Brunt is ageing whilst the majority of the midfielders still left at the club are more defensive minded.

As a result, Williams would provide them with a dose of creativity behind the strikers that's been missing for the best part of half a year.

His record at Charlton wasn't particularly convincing but he showed his quality in doses and simply adding a player who can play in a more advanced role in the middle of the pitch will be a great benefit.

On a free transfer, it's a low risk signing that West Brom should be considering.
