Charlton Athletic have the play-offs in their sights as the southeast Londoners embark on the final five games of the regular season - next up are second-placed Peterborough United.

Nigel Adkins' side recorded an emphatic 6-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle in midweek but now face a tougher test, with Posh fighting for automatic promotion themselves.

A win this afternoon for the Addicks would surely be a huge boost to their chances of making the play-odds as they still hold games in hand over their nearest challengers, but will the 56-year-old be tempted into any changes?

Adkins has a fully fit squad from which to choose, leaving him with plenty to ponder. As a result, we're expecting there to be as many as three changes from the line-up which hit Plymouth for six only a few days ago.

The Addicks boss confirmed that he would have Conor Washington and Ian Maatsen back from injury, whilst Ryan Inniss is set to return following a rest in midweek. However, only two of the three make it into the starting XI today, with the latter pair coming straight back in.

The on-loan Chelsea starlet could take his place up at right wing once again, supplanting Diallang Jaiyesimi, and Inniss should partner captain Jason Pearce in a straight swap with Akin Famewo.

Jayden Stockley bolstered his claims to remain in the line-up by scoring on Tuesday night, and the returning Chuks Aneke also found the net after coming on as a substitute, so Washington may have to wait for an opportunity to impress.

The third and final change could be in defence, with veteran right-back Chris Gunter getting the nod over Adam Matthews. The 29-year-old was withdrawn after just 56 minutes in Devon, so the former will join the aforementioned centre-back pairing, left-back Ben Purrington and goalkeeper Ben Amos.

Adkins' midfield from that Plymouth game should remain untouched, meaning that Ben Watson keeps his place over Darren Pratley at the base of the engine room and is joined by Jake Forster-Caskey and Alex Gilbey once again.
