Former professional football Dean Windass believes that Erling Haaland is the perfect fit for Chelsea.
There were reports from 90min last week that the Blues were going to test the resolve of Borussia Dortmund and offer them around £135m for the Norway international, with Sky Sports saying that the Bundesliga outfit are determined to hold onto Haaland this summer.
Haaland goalscoring record is second-to-none, with the Norwegian averaging a goal-per-game last season, as he scored 41 goals in 41 games in all competitions.
Chelsea have a number of attacking options amongst their side, including Timo Werner who joined from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig last summer, but Windass believes Haaland, who’s rated at £117m by Transfermarkt, is the right man for Chelsea.
“I think Haaland would be a great signing for Chelsea, it’s a great fit in the sense of a big number nine, strong, quick, scores goals,” he told FFC.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich isn’t afraid to splash the cash and back his manager. The club spent £226.1m on players last summer according to Sky Sports, and so you would imagine if Thomas Tuchel wants Haaland, then the club will put up the money and attempt to lure him away from Signal Iduna Park.
