If Chelsea manager Graham Potter does indeed have the maestro at his disposal in short time, one can only imagine the impact it would have on Mykhaylo Mudryk, who joined the club from Shakhtar Donetsk for £88.5m earlier this month.

Mudryk scored ten goals and served eight assists from 18 appearances for his former Ukrainian outfit this season, including three goals and two assists in the Champions League, and now plays his trade for Chelsea in what could be a destructive acquisition, bringing an abundance of skill and flair that will have cataclysmic consequences for his opposition.

With Fernandez's assurance behind him - the Argentine usually occupies the left side of the centre midfield, with Mudryk also predominantly forging his way down the left flank - the cohesive unity between the pair could enhance the already tantalising thought of the impact the winger could have.

As per FBref, the “game-changer” - as dubbed by Roy Nemer - that is Fernandez ranks among the top 1% of midfielders for progressive passes and the top 5% for rate of assists, when compared to those plying their trade in Men's Next 8 divisions, which could provide the perfect foundation for Mudryk to flourish further up the field.

With this in mind, Chelsea must remain unwavering in their transfer approach, and tie down the South American star to a long-term deal; he could indeed work in intrinsic tandem with Mudryk, and cement the club's stature at the very top of the global game for the next decade.
