Chelsea are in desperate need of reinforcements after a poor run of form in the Premier League that has left them eighth in the league table and Graham Potter will surely be looking for solutions during the World Cup break.

Indeed, the Blues have some of the best talents in the top flight but the squad have been struggling for some time now with their attacking threat in front of goal which has been a huge contributor to the side's demise.

No other team in the top half of the Premier League table has scored fewer goals than Chelsea this season so far which will be a massive concern for the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager and will surely be his priority to address in the January transfer window.

One player who has been very recently linked with the West London club is Atletico Madrid star, Joao Felix, with Marca reporting that Chelsea have joined the race to sign the player alongside Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in January.

There is no doubt that Felix would be a valuable asset to Chelsea if they could acquire his outstanding attributes at Stamford Bridge, but it won't come cheap as the report further suggests that Bayern Munich already offered €100m (£86m) to secure his signature.

The versatile forward - who was hailed an "immense talent" by team-mate Yannick Carrasco - ranks in the top 11% of his positional peers across Europe for progressive passes, interceptions and assists, as well as the top 20% for shot-creating actions and dribbles completed.

Felix has scored 67 goals and registered 35 assists with a goal contribution every 132 minutes over his career so far, which is an impressive and consistent output that would be a valuable asset to Chelsea over the second half of the season.

The 23-year-old is currently representing Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar and put on an outstanding performance in the nation's first group game against Ghana.

Over his 88-minute performance in the 3-2 victory, Felix scored one goal, won 50% of his duels and completed 100% of his long balls, as well as making a clearance and winning a tackle in order to tally up three points in Group H.

With that being said, it is clear that Felix would be a major coup for Chelsea in their pursuit to improve in front of goal but because they will need to compete with other elite clubs Todd Boehly must put together a tempting offer to fend off the likes of Man United and PSG.
