Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas believes that Brighton & Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray "could haunt" Crystal Palace this weekend.

What’s the word?

The two sides go head-to-head on Saturday in the early kick-off.

They have a well-publicised rivalry, of course, but Murray has played for both, starting at Brighton between 2008 and 2011, before a move to the Eagles that saw him stay at Selhurst Park in 2015.

A two-year spell at AFC Bournemouth followed prior to a return to Brighton, for whom he has scored a total of 111 goals in 280 appearances.

And Nicholas thinks that Murray will be key when the two sides face off this weekend.

Did he really play for us?! No Palace fan has managed to name all of these obscure Eagles signings....

He said: “I am not sure which Palace side will turn up. Roy Hodgson may be getting a new contract, but they need to get it done and over the line now.

“They are not a team who scores many goals, but I cannot separate them. Glenn Murray has come back into the team and could haunt his old club.

“I am slightly edging towards Brighton but it is hard to work out what is going on there currently.”

Nicholas believes that the two sides will draw 1-1.

In the team

Murray is finally in the Brighton side.

He has played in all of their last three games, scoring his only league goal thus far this term in the 3-3 draw with West Ham United.

Prior to that, though, he had made 15 appearances, though just three were starts.

One has to feel that it could well be written in the stars then, that he will be able to score against the Eagles.

Indeed, he has a top record against Palace, playing against the club five times and scoring four goals. He has been on the losing side against them just once.

Thus, one has to believe that Nicholas could well be spot on.

Meanwhile, one man is set to disappoint Palace!
