Former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer has told Football FanCast that he can see Wilfried Zaha signing a new contract at Crystal Palace.

In recent transfer windows, Zaha has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, with Tottenham and Everton two names that have been mentioned as potential destinations.

The 28-year-old winger has also spoken about having another shot at a leading outfit following his short spell with Manchester United.

However, Zaha is yet to secure that move and Palmer believes he could now extend his stay at Selhurst Park.

When asked by FFC if a lack of concrete interest could result in Zaha giving up on a transfer and deciding to sign a new deal at his current club, the ex-Leeds United player said:

"I could see that happening. Yes, I could see that happening. If you're not going to go to a top club, then where are you going to end up?

"So therefore, you might as well stay at a club where you're adored, where you're playing good football."

In the past, reports suggested that Arsenal and Chelsea were keen on Zaha. However, with both clubs having clearly cooled their interest in the player, the Ivory Coast international's options in regards to joining one of the top teams in the country look limited.
