Crystal Palace fans were introduced to talented youngster Jesurun Rak-Sakyi at the end of last season and will no doubt be delighted to hear that the teenager has reportedly agreed to a new deal at Selhurst Park.

What's the word?

According to reliable journalist Alan Nixon, the 19-year-old is to sign a new contract with the Eagles.

It's then suggested the youngster will head out on loan as he gets set to join League One side Charlton Athletic.

A big part of Vieira's future plans?

The youngster is clearly in Patrick Vieira's future plans, as he featured in each of Palace's last two fixtures last season, coming on as a substitute against Chelsea before starting in the 1-0 win against Manchester United on the final day.

Vieira was very impressed by his performance and sang his praises following the game.

He said: "He played two games against Chelsea and United, so it has been challenging and difficult."

"But he showed some quality, and he is a really promising young talent."

With that in mind, the boss will surely be delighted at tying him down to extended terms in the capital.

After all, he is an incredibly exciting prodigy with the talented teenager contributing a hugely impressive 18 goals and five assists in just 25 Premier League 2 appearances last season.

Rak-Sakyi was always going to struggle to oust the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze from the first-team so for him to go out and get regular first-team football in League One, in a side that will hope to be challenging at the right half of the table, will be good equally good news for his development.

With Zaha's contract set to expire at the end of this season, perhaps Rak-Sakyi could even push for a first-team spot next season, should he excel in his time at the Valley.

Palace fans will be keeping a keen eye on Rak-Sakyi's progress in England's third tier and will be hoping to see him return as an even more exciting prospect, with Vieira also set to be buzzing at tying down such a thriving young talent.
