Crystal Palace linked to Kasper Dolberg

Crystal Palace have been linked for a move for Nice striker Kasper Dolberg after his string of impressive displays at Euro 2020.

What’s the story?

According to The Sun, Patrick Vieira is keen to reunite with the 23-year-old hitman after he was put up for sale by the Ligue 1 outfit.

The report claims that Palace would have to splash out a sizeable £25 million fee to secure Dolberg’s services, although their new manager is well aware of the quality he possesses.

Should Palace sign Dolberg?

Yes, definitely!

Parish could get Palace rocking again

Vieira signed the Denmark international from Dutch giants Ajax two seasons ago when he was still in charge of Nice. And the technically gifted forward was the club’s top scorer in his first season, but his form dipped, and the now Palace boss was sacked in 2020.

However, there have been signs of Dolberg rediscovering his best form this summer while on international duty.

Three goals in four appearances for Kasper Hjulmand’s men played a pivotal part in the Danes reaching the semi-finals of the competition and has helped put the youngster back on the map.

After bursting onto the scene with his boyhood club at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, Dolberg has struggled to live up to expectations in recent years, scoring just six league goals last term.

Nevertheless, his ability and potential are clear for all to see, and his proposed arrival at Selhurst Park would surely be welcomed by a large section of the Palace supporters.

We bet you can't get 100% on this big CPFC 2020/21 season review quiz! How many Premier League goals did Christian Benteke score in 2020/21?

Vieira already knows how to get the best out of him, and chairman Steve Parish could get the Eagles rocking again by reuniting the pair in south London.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp once claimed Dolberg has a “great future” ahead of him, and the youngster once again looks set for greatness after shining on the international stage.

The capital club are in desperate need of added firepower ahead of the upcoming campaign after creative force Eberechi Eze was ruled out until the new year through injury, and Dolberg would provide exactly that.

A forward line involving Wilfried Zaha, Michael Olise, Dolberg and eventually, the returning Eze would be enough to strike fear into any Premier League defence and give Vieira the tools he needs to have a successful first season at Palace.
