Crystal Palace have recently been linked with re-signing Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and the 24-year-old could form a superb partnership with Michael Olise on Patrick Vieira's right-hand side.

It was reported earlier in the summer that the Eagles could try and bring the defender back to Selhurst Park on loan after a difficult spell with the Red Devils, having moved to Old Trafford in a £50m deal in 2019.

New manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly made it clear that Wan-Bissaka isn't part of his plans at the club, and Palace could be the ones to benefit, especially if he can rediscover the form that made him such a valuable asset for the Eagles in the first place.

Right-back is arguably an area of concern for Vieira, as he alternated between Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne there last season, and they are 32 and 31 respectively, so Wan-Bissaka could be a long-term solution if his loan move was made permanent at any point.

If he were to return to Palace this summer, he would surely be the starting choice at right-back, and his impressive defensive attributes could see him form a dangerous duo with Olise on the right.

The former Reading man enjoyed an impressive debut season with the Eagles, contributing four goals and seven assists in all competitions for Vieira's side.

Although Wan-Bissaka has never shown much going forward, his stability at the back could give Olise the freedom to shine in attack, while their combination of pace, power and skill would undoubtedly be a threat to any Premier League side.

Wes Brown was full of praise for the right-back in 2020, saying:

"Defensively, in one-on-ones, he’s definitely one of the best I’ve ever seen.

“It’s at the point now where, whenever he comes up against someone in a one-on-one scenario, you’re more than confident that he will end up winning the ball or clearing it. That shows his confidence as well as his ability. That, really, is all you can ask for in a right-back defender.”

Therefore, considering Olise's "special" ability in attack and Wan-Bissaka's proficiency in defence, Vieira would be foolish not to bring him back to Selhurst Park this summer, as they could form an excellent partnership on the right.
