Crystal Palace beat Sheffield United in their first game of 2021, but what was the score?

O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT:

“I’m sure there will be concerns that other clubs will be looking at Eze. He’s been in top form for Crystal Palace. He’s now fully recovered after that serious injury he had last season. He’s shown that he is back to his best and he’s a quality player.”

Vieira must keep hold of Eze

Next summer there may well be a great deal of concern surrounding a number of players, no less than Wilfried Zaha who is out of contract and attracting the interest of other Premier League clubs.

Although that is a dangerous situation, Vieira should arguably be focusing on Eze more over the coming months.

Indeed, there is no doubt that the Palace boss simply has to keep hold of the tricky forward as he will continue to be a valuable asset to the team over the season ahead and beyond.

Eze suffered a horrific Achilles injury in May 2021 which saw the player sidelined for 162 days, missing 12 fixtures for the south London club in total so the player and the manager will be thrilled that he is doing so well since recovering and returning to action.

The versatile star is currently the highest-rated player (7.15) in the entire squad so far according to SofaScore, and it will come as no surprise when you consider his effectiveness and attacking threat.

Should Crystal Palace cash in on Eze?

Over 12 league outings, the £37k-per-week ace – who was hailed a “special talent” by journalist Ed Malyon – has delivered two goals, registered two assists and created four big chances, as well as averaging at 1.8 key passes, 1.1 tackles and 2.2 dribbles per game.

The Palace boss is a huge admirer of Eze, dubbing him a “different class” for his performance in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool this season when he assisted Zaha for the side’s goal:

“Really pleased, Eze in that action showed his talent.

“People forget sometimes that he was injured for quite a while last year and he’s getting to his best. What he needs now is to play games.

“I think today he was a different class.”

With that being, the club must do everything they can to retain the services of Eze as he is becoming one of the most crucial figures in their attacking threat at Selhurst Park.
