An update has emerged on Crystal Palace and their interest in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in the summer transfer window…
Journalist Tom Barclay has claimed that the Eagles are keen on a swoop to bring him back to Selhurst Park for the 2022/23 campaign.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “They obviously love Gallagher from last year and they are definitely interested to see if they can do a deal for him.
“But Kante has got an injury and it sounds like he’s going to be out for a month, so this might be the chance for Gallagher to get some game-time at Chelsea. That puts that up in the air.”
Palace could form an exciting partnership in the middle of the park by bringing Gallagher back to pair him with fellow England U21 international Eze.
Their short run of starts suggests that they struck an instant connection as Palace picked up nine points from those five outings and avoided defeat.
Both players are attack-minded midfielders who have the quality to make a big impact at the top end of the pitch for Vieira.
The midfielder, who has been valued at £40m, has been dubbed “high-quality” and a “warrior” by talent scout Jacek Kulig in the past, with the latter compliment being backed up by his 2.9 tackles and interceptions per match.
He has proven that he can put in superb performances on a consistent basis in the Palace team and this means that he would be a low-risk signing in the sense that they already know that he suits the way that they play.
Although, a second spell could see him take his game to the next level as Eze is now back fit and the pair could thrive off each other in the final third.
This shows that he is a creative threat and his genius on the ball could open up more opportunities for Gallagher to show off his goalscoring prowess, which is why they could be an exciting pair to watch for Palace.
