Crystal Palace face a potential transfer disaster for their current target and former player, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

What's the word?

That is according to the latest report from Sky Sports' Michael Bridge, as per GIVEMESPORT, which claims the Eagles could be dealt a blow over the 24-year-old full-back due to interest from abroad.

Whilst Wan-Bissaka has failed to hit the heights that were expected of him when he signed for Manchester United back in 2019, Bridge still feels that clubs from abroad will try to land his signature this summer.

The reporter said: “I thought when I first saw him at Palace that he was going to be England’s right-back for the next 10 years, but it just didn’t turn out that way. He’s very limited in certain areas. So, I don’t know whether it would be a loan for him.

“I’ve heard a few murmurs that there’s clubs abroad that would like to take him for a year, so it’s a bit of a wait and see with that one.”

Palace must act fast

With the latest report in mind, Palace must act fast in order to pip potential European competition to the signature of the Englishman and avoid what would be a disaster for Vieira's side.

Wan-Bissaka was well-loved during his initial stint at Selhurst Park and thus, if a move cannot be sealed, the fanbase will understandably be rather gutted.

Having averaged just 1.45 shot-creating actions per 90 across the last 365 days, Bridge has a point about the 24-year-old's lack of end product, though his defensive attributes are better than the metrics sustained by fellow right-back Joel Ward for almost all statistics.

Wan-Bissaka's average of 2.60 blocks per 90 are a standout to his game, whilst his 2.60 interceptions also place within the elite category.

Ward on the other hand does not quite match up, averaging 1.89 blocks per 90 and 2.06 interceptions that see him place in the 67th percentile for positionally similar players, as per FBref.

There is no doubt that Wan-Bissaka offers defensive solidity at the back, so if Vieira can look to use him in an asymmetrical full-back system, he could really get the best out of the full-back.
