Earlier this summer it appeared to be a formality that Chelsea were going to re-sign former Blue Romelu Lukaku to replace out-of-favour striker Diego Costa.

Now the 24-year old Belgium international has all but completed a move to Manchester United and Antonio Conte must now look at alternatives.

Alvaro Morata has been mentioned, while the Telegraph have reported that Chelsea are looking at Torino's Andrea Belotti and Christian Benteke of Crystal Palace. Both are not of the quality of Lukaku or Morata but certainly could represent better value for money depending on their price tags.

23-year old Italian Belotti, who is valued at £25.5m by transfermarkt, finished third in last season's Serie A goalscoring charts with 26 goals, which brought the attention of Europe's elite. Belotti's form earned him a call-up to the senior national team and he now has four goals from his nine Italy appearances.

Crystal Palace broke their transfer record last summer to sign Liverpool flop Christian Benteke and he repaid their faith by helping them avoid relegation. The 26-year old Belgian, valued at £23.8m by transfermarkt, scored 15 league goals for the Eagles and appeared to regain the form and confidence that Liverpool had expected out of him.

So now Chelsea have missed the boat on Lukaku, which striker would you rather Conte sign this summer?
