HYS: Should West Ham sign Olivier Giroud or Andre Gray?

In the past two summers, West Ham seems to have been linked with every striker available but with no true success.

This summer, the Hammers have had their sights on Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud and are now tipped for a move for Burnley’s Andre Gray.

Both strikers had good campaigns last year and it is no surprise they are being linked with moves away. Gray scored nine league goals as Burnley surprised many and avoided relegation.

The English striker only has one year remaining on his current deal and has reportedly turned down a contract extension, so Sean Dyche will likely want to cash in on the 26-year old while he still can.

Slaven Bilic is reportedly hoping £15m will be enough to bring striker to the London Stadium.

Meanwhile, Alexandre Lacazette’s move to Arsenal has put Olivier Giroud’s future in doubt and West Ham could surely use someone of his talent. The 30-year old scored 12 league goals despite starting only 11 games last season and would be a major boost to the Hammers.

Valued at £18.7million by transfermarkt.com, Giroud has two years remaining on his current deal but will likely seek a consistent starting role ahead of next summer’s World Cup, which he would certainly get with West Ham.
