Arsenal fans vote Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain MOTM vs Man City

A Sunday afternoon at Wembley was the setting of a victory that helped gloss over what has been a worrying few months for Arsenal fans. The Gunners have picked up just ten points from their last nine Premier League outings but managed to manoeuvre their way past Pep Guardiola’s talented Manchester City side at Wembely to land a place in the FA Cup final for the third time in four seasons.

It wasn’t exactly a stellar performance from the north Londoners, who initially went behind and had City goals spared by the crossbar, the post and an erroneous call from the linesman. But Arsenal deserve plenty of credit for getting themselves back into the match and showing killer instinct at the right end of the pitch – Nacho Monreal levelling the scoring with a superb finish and Alexis Sanchez stabbing home an extra-time winner from close range.

Earlier this week, we asked Arsenal fans to vote for their Man of the Match from the semi-final win in our exclusive poll and although he wasn’t one of those who got on the scoresheet, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, lining up as a right wing-back, simply ran away with the vote.
