Gareth Southgate will have some tough decisions to make when he draws up his England squad next month - particularly in regards to the final third.

Indeed, Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy, who were both part of his last Three Lions squad, just aren't producing goals at the moment, whilst England skipper Wayne Rooney is far from a guaranteed starter at Manchester United these days, with the likes of Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan ahead of him in the pecking order.

In fact, the Red Devils captain has started just eight Premier League games, out of a possible 24, so far this season - although his overall top flight return of two goals and five assists in 17 is by no means dreadful.

So amid news Southgate will be running the rule over an alternative this weekend in the form of Andy Carroll, we asked our readers earlier this week whether Rooney should be dropped from England's next squad.

Well, the results of our exclusive poll are now in and although the majority backed Rooney to keep his place, a significant 43% would also like to see him axed.
