Last night saw England produce a positive and promising performance against Germany in Dortmund, even though they ended up on the wrong side of a 1-0 scoreline via a send-off piledriver from former Arsenal star Lukas Podolski.

Gareth Southgate's side finished the match with the lion's share of possession (no pun intended) and just three less efforts at goal than the home team, also hitting the woodwork through Adam Lallana.

Indeed, there are plenty of positives to take from the Three Lions' showing last night, not least including a plethora of incredibly convincing individual displays in England's Chelsea inspired 3-4-2-1 setup.

With that in mind, we asked our readers earlier today to vote for which England star deserved the Man of the Match award last night and the results of our exclusive poll are now in.

As you can see, Tottenham stars lead the way, with Eric Dier, Kyle Walker and Dele Alli claiming the top three slots respectively. Captain Gary Cahill and Liverpool's Adam Lallana, meanwhile, two other influential performers last night, missed out.

Alli unsurprisingly took the award; he was a menace to Germany's defence all evening, finishing up with four efforts at goal, three successful dribbles and one created chance, and now appears nailed on as England's resident No.10.
