With a potential exodus on the cards, starting with manager Arsene Wenger, the coming summer transfer window could be a pivotal one in the history of Arsenal football club. New gaffers mean new signings and new signings mean some of the old guard will inevitably be moved on.

After so many years of fourth-placed purgatory, most Gunners supporters are likely licking their lips at the prospect of change. But in the interests of continuity and preserving the Arsenal philosophy Wenger has spent so long entrenching into every aspect of the club, would the north Londoners be better off bringing some of their former chargers back to the Emirates Stadium this summer?

We put that exact question to Arsenal supporters earlier this week, asking which former stars they'd like to see return to the club during the next transfer window. The results of our exclusive poll are now in, so here's a look at the top three stars Arsenal fans want their club to try and re-sign this summer...

3. Oguzhan Ozyakup

During his four years in north London, midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup made just two appearances for Arsenal, grabbing one assist, before joining Besiktas in summer 2012.

But the 24-year-old playmaker has gone on to establish himself as one of the top talents in the Super Lig, helping his side to last season's title with nine goals and seven assists in 31 league outings.

Now aged 24, Ozyakup seems ready to test himself at the top end of European football one again - but if there's one concern from Arsenal's perspective, it's that he's yet another diminutive middleman.

2. Cesc Fabregas

Despite the controversy that surrounded his return to the Premier League with bitter rivals Chelsea, it appears Arsenal fans still have a soft spot for Cesc Fabregas, who ranked second in our poll despite receiving the most down votes, twelve, of any player involved.

In fairness, the Spain international was sensational for the Gunners and has been an important figure at Stamford Bridge this season, notching up three goals and seven assists in the Premier League despite making just seven league starts under Antonio Conte.

1. Serge Gnabry

Serge Gnabry surprisingly left Arsenal in the summer after some scintillating displays at the Rio Olympics and has proved a revelation in the Bundesliga, notching up ten goals and one assist in 22 league outings for Werder Bremen - despite starting just three times at centre-forward.

Aged just 21 and clearly a huge talent, with the physicality to make himself a real menace in the Premier League, the Arsenal fans who voted him to top spot in our poll are clearly wondering how such a promising player was allowed to leave the club for such a modest fee.
