Diego Costa’s future at Stamford Bridge remains shrouded in doubt, with The Telegraph claiming the Chelsea striker is not only attracting interest from the Chinese Super League but also his former employers Atletico Madrid.
No doubt, the Spain international is a real force when in top form, helping fire Chelsea to their last two Premier League titles. But the powerful centre-forward is a temperamental talent and his Blues career has been littered with bouts of inconsistency, not to mention controversial incidents.
Due to turn 29 in October, prone to hamstring problems and garnering interest from more than one party, it makes sense for Chelsea to cash in this summer, pitting Atletico against the Chinese Super League to help drive up Costa’s value.
With that in mind, we asked Chelsea supporters earlier this week whether they’d sell the South American this summer, and according to our poll a whopping 64% would. Blues fans seemingly don’t view Costa as a key part of the club’s future.
