Revealed: 72% of Chelsea fans reckon Izzy Brown is ready for first-team football

Chelsea’s loan army seemingly comes with as many benefits as flaws. Whilst it allows Blues managers a vast array of young talent to tap into and the club a substantial collection of assets that usually only increase in value before being sold on, the number of starlets who actually make the step up to the first team is marginal – in fact, it’s practically non-existent.

Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku are the obvious examples; after impressing elsewhere on loan and subsequently being sold for profit, the Belgian duo are now amongst the biggest stars in the Premier League, consistently producing the goods for Manchester City and Everton respectively.

But Antonio Conte has shown the willingness to give Chelsea’s loan clan the chances his predecessors wouldn’t. Nathaniel Chalobah and Nathan Ake have featured sporadically throughout the campaign, whilst Victor Moses has made himself an integral member of the Blues’ starting XI as the right wing-back in the Italian’s season-defining 3-4-3 setup.

So who could make the same transformation from promising youngster on loan to regular first-teamer next season? Well, after a goal-grabbing performance against Wolves that secured Huddersfield a place in the Championship’s Playoffs earlier this week, we asked Chelsea fans whether Izzy Brown could be the next loan starlet to come good for the west Londoners.

And according to the results of our exclusive poll, a whopping 72% of Chelsea fans reckon the 20-year-old should be a part of Conte’s first-team squad next season. It’s been a fine campaign for the attacking midfielder in the second tier – but do you agree? Let us know by commenting below!
