It hasn't been an enjoyable few months for Diego Costa. In fact, the Chelsea front-man has been hopelessly out of form for the majority of 2017 - most notably since his reported bust-up with Antonio Conte in January amid the backdrop of apparent transfer interest from the Chinese Super League.

That's lead many to question the Spain international's long-term future at Stamford Bridge, having always seemed destined to leave the club under somewhat of a dark cloud due to his controversial style.

But the 28-year-old finally brought his seven-game scoring drought to an end yesterday evening as Conte's Blues charged to a thrilling 4-2 win over Southampton, with Costa netting twice. He headed home from close range after half time to extend Chelsea's lead to 3-1, and then finished off a stunning Blues move to complete his brace in the dying embers of the match.

And Costa's revival in form hasn't gone unnoticed by Chelsea supporters. In fact, FFC's readers voted the striker Chelsea's Man of the Match against Southampton in our exclusive poll. Pure redemption for the former Atletico ace after such a difficult start to 2017, but he'll need to provide a few more goals between now and the end of the season to silence all of his doubters.
