Everton boss Ronald Koeman has recently revealed one of the tasks still on his transfer agenda this summer is to sign a left-sided defender who can play at both centre-back and left-back.

Which may confuse some Toffees fans, because the Dutchman has just allowed one youngster capable of playing in both positions leave for Sunderland on a season-long loan - England U21 Brendan Galloway.

Admittedly, Galloway struggled to make a mark in the first team on loan at West Brom last season, so a long run in the Championship will surely aid his development.

But after a solid debut for the Black Cats against Derby County last Friday - barring one costly error early on that lead to the Rams' opening strike in a 1-1 draw - raised the question of whether Koeman was right to dismiss Galloway so quickly from his plans for 2017/18.

We put that exact question to Sunderland and Everton fans earlier this week and although the majority believe Galloway is better off at the Stadium of Light, it's certainly intriguing that 45% reckon he should still be at his parent club.

With a big fixture schedule this season due to the Europa League and considering how much even average players are costing Premier League clubs this summer, Koeman may soon come to regret letting Galloway leave.
