Liverpool's first port of call in the transfer market this summer will surely be to sign a commanding and powerful centre-half who can add some much-needed organisation and solidity to a defence that has conceded the most goals of any side in the Premier League's top seven this season.

Indeed, a rampant attack certainly won't be what has let Liverpool down should they miss on Champions League qualification this term and in truth, the Reds' porousness at the back predates Jurgen Klopp's arrival in October 2015 - so it really is time the club did something about it.

But who'll actually be brought to Anfield to provide a solution remains unclear. Whereas Mirror Football claim Liverpool are closing in on Burnley's Michael Keane, The Daily Star seemingly believe Southampton's Virgil van Dijk is their preferred defensive target.

With that in mind, we asked Liverpool fans earlier this week which centre-back they'd rather see Klopp sign, and our subsequent poll saw Van Dijk take the lion's share of the votes by quite some distance. The Liverpool fans have spoken... but does Klopp agree with them?
