Arsene Wenger has declared he will only make two or three signings during the summer transfer window, and recent speculation suggests at least one will be a striker.
Indeed, The Daily Star have claimed the Frenchman will be privy to a £150million warchest to transform a side that missed out on Champions League qualification this season, with Lyon front-man Alexandre Lacazette and Monaco counterpart Kylian Mbappe both options on his radar.
Wenger obviously has a long history of exploiting the French market but his interest is unquestionably justified. Aged just 18, Mbappe’s 24 goals have taken Monaco to the Ligue 1 title and a Champions League semi-final this season, whilst Lacazette now boasts 113 goals from his last four campaigns.
With just age to choose between the two France internationals, we asked Arsenal fans earlier this week who their club should try and sign this summer – Lacazette or Mbappe. And according to our poll, the slimmest of majorities, 52%, think Wenger should focus on signing the latter.
