Sunderland’s relegation to the Championship has immediately heralded questions over Jordan Pickford’s future on Wearside.
The 23-year-old’s form has been one of the rare few positives amid a disastrous campaign at the Stadium of Light and one can only imagine how much sooner David Moyes’ side would have been relegated without his many heroic displays between the sticks.
The Telegraph reported earlier this week that a whole cohort of top Premier League clubs are eyeing the shot-stopper ahead of the summer transfer window, not least including Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
So with Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius not exactly convincing the Anfield faithful that they have the quality to don the No.1 berth long-term, we asked Reds fans earlier this week whether they’d back a summer swoop for Pickford.
According to the results of our recent poll, however, a whopping 66% of Liverpool fans would be against such a transfer deal, seemingly wanting Jurgen Klopp’s side to drop out of the race for his signature.
