Revealed: Majority of Man United fans would back Gareth Bale swoop

Earlier this month, Gareth Bale lifted his third Champions League title with Real Madrid, but there are reasons to believe that could be his swan-song moment for the reigning European champions.

After all, injuries kept the Welshman sidelined for much of last season and Los Blancos consistently excelled in his absence, also lifting the La Liga title, suggesting he’s not as vital to results as his £87million price-tag might insinuate.

Likewise, the 27-year-old is never far from being linked with a return to the Premier League and The Independent have recently suggested a summer move to Manchester United.

But whether Bale is still the relentless, top-class force who left Tottenham in summer 2013 remains open to debate, especially in light of his recent injury problems.

So we recently asked United fans whether they’d back a summer swoop for the 66-cap international and according to our poll, a significant 65% of Red Devils supporters would be in favour of such a deal.
