This week's arrival of Victor Lindelof could spell the end for another Manchester United player in the form of Chris Smalling.

Indeed, the England international was one of Louis van Gaal's key players during his two terms at Old Trafford but he slumped down the pecking order last season and The Daily Star claim the Red Devils are now looking to sell for around £15million - with Everton and West Ham amongst the interested parties.

But that could prove to be incredibly short sighted on United's part. After all, Smalling is a talented and highly physical defender who would undoubtedly strengthen the backlines at West Ham and Everton - two clubs who will be looking to push the Premier League's top six next season.

With that in mind, we asked United fans earlier this week whether their club should reconsider selling the 6 foot 4 defender but according to our poll, 60% want to see him offloaded this summer.

Whilst that's bad news for Smalling, it could prove to be great news for Everton or West Ham.
