West Ham’s summer recruitment suggests an incredibly exciting season ahead, but it has also exposed an arguable weak link in their starting XI – central midfield.
Whilst Cheikhou Kouyate, Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang are all decent options, none possess that spark and creativity to truly turn a match on its head, unlike Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez who have just arrived at the London Stadium.
Coincidentally, recent reports from The Independent have linked Jack Wilshere with a move to West Ham, claiming that although they’re yet to express serious interest in the England international, who Transfermarkt value at £15.3million, his preference this summer is to seal a switch to east London.
Of course, Wilshere’s a fantastic talent when at his best but continually suffers from injury problems, which is exactly why his Arsenal career looks set to come to an end this summer.
So we asked West Ham fans earlier this week whether their club should move for the 25-year-old and according to our poll, a significant 72% believe they should.
