There is perhaps no Premier League club with more mystery surrounding their coming summer transfer window than Arsenal.
Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s futures remain unclear and we don’t even know if Arsene Wenger will still be in the dugout – let alone what players the north London club might actually bring in should the Frenchman stay or go.
One option seemingly on their radar, however, is Everton midfielder Ross Barkley. The England international came in for plenty of stick earlier in the campaign but has since got his act together, now boasting four goals and eight assists from 34 Premier League outings.
According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal have now ‘posted their interest’ in the 23-year-old, who also boasts an admirer in the Gunners’ local rivals Tottenham Hotspur and is reportedly valued by his current employers at £35million.
With that in mind, we asked Gunners supporters earlier this week whether they’d back a transfer deal involving that exact sum to bring Barkley to the Emirates Stadium and although our poll wasn’t exactly conclusive, a slight majority of 52% voted in favour of a £35million swoop.
