It’s funny how a few decent performances can change opinions of a widely-criticised player, which appears to be the case with Tottenham Hotspur’s Moussa Sissoko.
The France international has certainly received his fair share of flack since joining the north Londoners from Newcastle United in summer 2016 and he made just a handful of starts for Tottenham during his debut season.
But the powerful midfielder, who Transfermarkt value at £18million, looked solid against Swansea at Wembley earlier this month and was amongst Spurs’ better performers during their 3-2 win over West Ham on Saturday.
With that in mind, we recently asked Spurs fans whether the former Magpie should start the Champions League clash with APOEL this evening and according to our poll, a whopping 83% think he should be in Mauricio Pochettino’s XI.
Occasions in which Spurs fans have actually wanted Sissoko in the starting line-up have been few and far between over the last year or so, but whether it’s because of the limited quality of the opposition or his recent improvement in form, our poll suggests views on the 28-year-old are slowly changing for the better.
