The defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup on Saturday will have been difficult to take for Tottenham Hotspur fans, simply because their side played so well.

In fact, the Lilywhites looked on course to claim a huge victory over their London rivals after a Dele Alli equaliser pushed momentum in their favour with about half an hour to go.

But Chelsea are the Premier League's pace-setters for a reason and produced the mixture of quality and steely grit required to push themselves over the line - with Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic getting on the score sheet to make it 4-2.

There were undoubtedly positives for the Lilywhites to take from the game, however, not least including impressive displays both individually and collectively throughout the ninety minutes.

With that in mind, we asked Spurs fans earlier today to vote for their Man of the Match and according to the results of our recent poll, they think the award should go to Christian Eriksen.

The Danish international might have failed to find the net himself against Chelsea but he was easily the most creative force on the pitch, finishing up with a whopping eight chances to his name - including assists for both of Spurs' goals.

Now aged 25, it feels like we're finally starting to see the absolute best from the sometimes mercurial former Ajax youngster.
