Everton have been linked with summer moves for both Hull City defender Harry Maguire and Las Palmas centre-half Mauricio Lemos - by The Daily Star and The Telegraph respectively - as the Toffees look to add strength in depth to their back line.

While Ronald Koeman's men had a relatively successful season, finishing in 7th place in the Premier League, investment is certainly needed if the Merseyside club are to push their way into the top four in the coming years.

Defensive reinforcements will likely be a must for Everton after conceding the joint-most goals of the top seven teams in the Premier League and poor form at the back contributed to the club's horrific start to the season.

Maguire seems almost destined for the exit door from Hull City following their relegation from the Premier League, and Everton are reportedly interested in the 6 foot 2 Englishman.

Should the Toffees want to spend big however, Lemos could be the man they choose to help sturdy their back line, valued at £18million by his current club.
