Last week, Gareth Southgate announced his England squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers with Malta and Slovakia, due to take place on Friday and Monday respectively.
Heavily reliant on foreign talent these days, Chelsea boast just one representative from the latest batch of Three Lions – captain Gary Cahill – although Blues supporters will feel some pride upon seeing Nathaniel Chalobah earn his first senior call-up after leaving Stamford Bridge for Watford earlier this summer.
That puts Chelsea fans in a rather unique position in regards to judging Southgate’s latest selections; with just the one Blue in the mix, they can give largely unbiased views on the rest of the team without being sucked in by club allegiances.
So, Blues supporters, how do you rate Southgate’s squad? Has the England gaffer got it right, could improvements be made or does it require a complete revolution? Let us know who’d make your England side by giving each player below a thumbs-up or a thumbs-down.
