With the Premier League on hold for the best part of the next fortnight, it’s time to turn our attentions to international football – albeit looking a little further beyond England’s two qualifiers with Slovenia and Lithuania.
Having all-but-mathematically secured their place at the tournament already, England’s encounters this week represent a chance for Gareth Southgate to closer examine his Three Lions while ensuring what should be relatively routine results.
And one of the bigger doubts currently surrounding England relates to their goalkeeping department. While Joe Hart remains the most experienced and proven option at Southgate’s disposal, with 73 caps under his belt already, the West Ham loanee faces huge competition for the No.1 berth.
Jack Butland and Jordan Pickford have emerged as amongst the most promising young goalkeepers in the Premier League, while Fraser Forster and Tom Heaton have more than proved themselves at top flight level as well.
With no Blues representative in the mix, Chelsea fans are well-positioned to give an unbiased perspective on who England’s first-choice goalkeeper should be at the World Cup next summer.
So, Blues supporters, let us know who you think should be England’s No.1 by voting below…
