Manchester City favourite Joe Hart, currently on loan at West Ham, looks set to continue in his No.1 berth for England’s upcoming qualifiers with Slovenia and Lithuania.
But whether the 6 foot 5 goalkeeper will still be Gareth Southgate’s first-choice by the time the World Cup in Russia comes around next summer remains to be seen.
He’s still the Three Lions’ most proven and experienced option by quite some distance, but Hart was culpable for costly errors at Euro 2016 and we probably haven’t seen the best of him domestically over last few seasons amid confusion over the direction his club career is heading.
At the same time, Jordan Pickford, Tom Heaton, Fraser Forster and Jack Butland have all emerged as viable alternatives in recent years.
So, Manchester City fans, do you think Hart is still the right man for England’s No.1 jersey at the World Cup? Let us know by voting below…
