HYS: Should Chelsea bid for Antonio Rudiger?

According to reports from The Sun, Chelsea are eyeing a £70million double transfer raid for Roma stars Antonio Rudiger and Radja Nainggolan.

The Blues’ keenness on Nanggolan is certainly understandable; dynamic, undying energy makes him perfect for Antonio Conte’s two-man engine room and the Premier League’s champions in waiting need more depth in midfield for their return to the Champions League next season.

But a swoop for Rudiger, who is valued at £15.3m by transfermarkt.com, would likely split opinion a little more. The twelve-cap German international is highly-rated but hasn’t always shown his true abilities and Chelsea already have a wealth of options at centre-half, even if John Terry does leave the club this summer – David Luiz, Kurt Zouma, Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta, Nathan Ake and the expected-to-return-from-loan Andreas Christensen.

So, Chelsea fans, does your club really need to spend big on another centre-back this summer and if so, should it be the 6 foot 3 Roma ace?
