According to reports from The Sun, Everton are eyeing a big-money swoop for Celtic’s strike prodigy Moussa Dembele.
Brendan Rodgers’ side snapped up the youngster in a compensation deal from Fulham last summer and he went on to take the Scottish top flight by storm throughout 2016/17, netting 17 times in 29 outings – in addition to scoring three times during the Champions League’s Group Stages.
The Sun claim Everton are now targeting the Frenchman as a direct replacement for Romelu Lukaku, but a number of Premier League rivals have also expressed an interest, not least including Manchester United and local rivals Liverpool.
It’s also suggested Everton will cough up a club-record transfer fee to sign Dembele. But is the 20-year-old real deal and worthy of such a price-tag, or are the Toffees falling for the hype of a young striker impressing in an non-competitive league?
