HYS: Should James Milner start vs Man United?

Having so loyally and selflessly taken up the left-back slot in Liverpool’s starting XI last term, James Milner will likely be surprised to find himself occupying little more than a squad role in Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the current campaign.

He is, after all, the most experienced member of Liverpool’s current cohort with two Premier League titles and 61 England caps under his belt, and is still the club’s official vice captain. Nonetheless, Milner’s made just two Premier League starts this season, against rather modest opposition in Crystal Palace and Burnley.

But with Klopp likely to reshuffle his ranks this weekend following Sadio Mane’s injury, the timing feels right to bring Milner back in for the biggest test of Liverpool’s season thus far – the Northwest derby at Anfield on Saturday – where his vast experience could pay dividends.

So, Liverpool fans, whether it’s in midfield or defence, would you bring Milner back into the side this weekend? Let us know by voting below…
