According to reports from The Telegraph, a number of the Premier League's top clubs are monitoring Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford ahead of the summer transfer window - including Everton and Liverpool.

The Black Cats' relegation campaign may have been even more embarrassing without the young Englishman between the sticks; he inspired just their sixth top flight win of the season on Saturday with a heroic performance against Hull City and has amassed in total 96 saves in 26 appearances.

Consequentially, The Telegraph strongly suggest Pickford will be sacrificed this summer so that David Moyes can have the funds to reinvent his troubled squad, valuing the 23-year-old at £25million plus add-ons.

Everton and Liverpool could both be in the market for a new glovesman this summer, with their current options - Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles and Simon Mignolet and Lorius Karius respectively - struggling to convince throughout the season.

The Reds may be slightly better placed than their local rivals in that regard, but with Everton looking upwards following the investment of Farhad Moshiri, Jurgen Klopp's side must ensure they stay ahead of their Stanley Park neighbours at all costs.
