HYS: Should Man United activate Belotti’s release clause?

Having reportedly cooled their interest in Antoine Griezmann to focus on signing an out-and-out centre-forward, discussions of Manchester United’s summer transfer plans have shifted towards free-scoring strikers over the last few weeks.

One reportedly on their radar is Torino’s Andrea Belotti, who has just come to the end of a stunning campaign with the Italian outfit. He’s bagged 26 goals and seven assists in Serie A, whilst establishing himself in the Italian national team with eight caps since last August.

Transfermarkt value the 23-year-old at £25.5million, a fairly sensible price for a young player with just three top-flight campaigns under his belt.

According to Torino’s president Urbano Cairo, however, as reported by Manchester Evening News, any club hoping to sign the striker this summer will have to pay out his £87million release clause.

That’s a rather staggering sum. So, United fans, should your club pay up? Let us know by voting below…
