There is little doubt Jose Mourinho has improved Manchester United since replacing Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford throne last summer, but if his side are to progress to the levels of trophy-laden glory they reached under Sir Alex Ferguson, further additions are clearly needed before the start of next season.

Accordingly, it looks set to be a huge transfer window for Mourinho and the Red Devils, not only in terms of bringing players in but also deciding who to axe from one of the most holistic and varied squads in Europe.

One well-known name reportedly already on their radar is Arsenal's contractually rebellious playmaker Mesut Ozil, who is yet to agree terms beyond the end of next season and could consequentially oblige his club to sell him this summer.

Mourinho worked with the German World Cup winner to great effect at Real Madrid, winning the La Liga title together in 2011/12, but Ozil's struggled to have the same impact in the Premier League and often drawn criticism for his tendency to go missing in big games.

Mirror Football claimed last week that the United boss is eyeing a stunning reunion that will undoubtedly send shockwaves throughout the Premier League, but do the Red Devils really need the mercurial midfield maestro? Let us know by voting below...
