Marko Grujic was tipped to become a shining star of Liverpool's midfield when the Reds snapped him up from Red Star Belgrade in 2016.

But it just didn't quite happen for the Serbian international during his debut season at Anfield, making only eight appearances across all competitions and failing to truly impact Jurgen Klopp's first team plans.

The 21-year-old has featured sparingly this term too but Liverpool's Champions League clash against Maribor on Wednesday evening represents perhaps his best chance of a full run out after coming on from the bench against Tottenham two weekends ago.

Nothing can be taken for granted in Europe but Liverpool ripped apart the Slovenian outfit in the reverse fixture earlier this month to produce a record-breaking away win, so beating them at Anfield should be a relatively simple task.

Accordingly, the clash could provide Grujic with the platform to shine and the subsequent confidence he needs to truly challenge for a regular spot in the starting XI. So, Liverpool fans, would you start the 6 foot 3 midfielder versus Maribor? Let us know by voting below...
