Recent reports from The Daily Mail suggest Gareth Southgate is already putting some serious thought into the England squad he'll call up to face Germany and Lithuania next month.

Indeed, the British newspaper claim Southgate will attend West Ham's Premier League clash with West Brom on Saturday, with his eyes seemingly set on Hammers duo Andy Carroll and Michail Antonio.

But FootballFanCast are a little more interested in Southgate's decision on Three Lions skipper Wayne Rooney and whether he'll continue his berth as captain.

Of course, nobody doubts the Manchester United forward's experience and quality but he's made just eight Premier League starts so far this season - the last coming all the way back in mid-December - and we all know Rooney isn't the dynamic driving force he once was.
